There is a smile behind those tears

I cried and I cried

But then … one day

I smiled and I smiled

You tried to put out my light

You tried to kill my love

My heart and my soul

You couldn’t and you didn’t

Because there was always a smile

Behind those tears

A smile of love

A smile of joy

A smile for days gone by

I chose love and light

You chose hatred and to fight

There was always a smile

Behind those tears

Happier today than yesterday

Thankful for the experience

I like me better now

Laughing, smiling, living and loving

Thanking God for living my best life
