That Mallard swims alone

He is in the pond again

Sometimes, rarely there are 3, 4. or 5 of them

Most days its just that one duck

What gives? I think to myself

Where are all your friends

Why are you alone again

Where did they go

Why did they leave

That one Mallard alone in the pond

He seems so content

All by himself

I enjoy watching him swim and play

Then too I am happy when he has company

Even though most days

It is just that one duck

That one Mallard
