Lean For Lent

Last Wednesday we started the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday and our “lean for lent” program. We are lowering our carbs and adding more to our exercise routines. The goal for this 6-week program is to lose 10 pounds and forgo bad attitudes and negativity. Kindness counts! It is about mind, body and soul and overall wellness.
Participants were encouraged to weigh themselves the first Friday and every week on Friday thereafter.

Week 1 – My progress …
I have definitely been more aware of any snarky or negative comments and BEFORE they come out of my mouth I rethink them. My workout schedule has increased with adding more scheduled gym dates. I love a good treadmill and stationary bike and added more dips in the pool and dry sauna.
We eat healthy with that occasional sweet treat and today my weigh in for the week shows a two pound loss. Happy because I did NOT starve myself and my skin looks healthier and my joy has increased.
Today’s tip – DRINK MORE WATER! Your stomach only knows FULL and EMPTY and not necessarily what is filling it up!
